The Children's Museum
We just got back from an exciting afternoon at the Children's Museum! It is located in downtown St. Paul, not a part of the cities we get to very often, but we had a great time, and the kids loved it. They have some really cool exhibits, all geared toward "learning through play" (their motto). They have a whole floor devoted to the outdoors, including an ant lodge
and a woodchuck's den.
You could pet turtles.
One of Andy's greatest fears was almost realized by this giant stuffed wasp. He thought it was the scariest stuffed animal he had ever seen.
There was also a floor called "Real world." They had a grocery store, restaurant, post office, bus, and different businesses, including a music studio. Here Ava and Luke are starring in their own video. Ava playing the maracas and Luke the guitar.
The biggest hit of the museum was water world. They had several different stations with different things to do with water. They had a pipe and valve system

There was also a bubble station and one with measuring cups and sprinklers. It was truly amazing we didn't walk out of there completely drenched, but the kids really did great. We wrapped up the afternoon with hot fudge sundaes at McDonalds. Smiles all around! My favorite part of the day was in the van on the way home. Ava was talking about walking through the ant lodge and getting lost, but everything turned out ok, "Because a kid belonging to another parent showed her the way out." Whew!

I am so proud of Andy! I could not have done it if it was a spider!
