So as I was looking at these pictures, the thought crossed my mind that I really do not look much like either of my sisters or my mom. That thought took me back to my childhood and my sisters telling me that I didn't look like them because I was adopted. And that I should never ask mom and dad about it because it would upset them. So I never asked, and believed I was adopted until I was about 10. Ahhhh, memories. Aren't sisters the best?!
Another exciting event of the past couple of weeks was Ava and Luke's first Twins game! I am pleased to say we made it through nearly 4 innings. As we were walking away from the Metrodome, we could hear the crowd roaring. Right then my phone rang, and it was my dad telling me that Joe Mauer had just hit a homerun, right in the area we had been sitting... of course.
The best part of the game, especially for Ava? The mascot, a big bear called TC (for twin cities). We'll try again next year and maybe get into the 5th inning!
Up next on the O'Rourke calendar of events (besides weddings!), Andy and I will be heading out to Vail, Colorado, for a church planters and wives retreat. We are so excited and looking forward to a little time away.

You know, none of us ever saw you in the hospital. You were supposedly "born" in Iowa after we had all moved to Illinois...
You may want to ask Mom and Dad about it, after all.
(love you no matter who you really are...)

That story about you being adopted made me laugh so hard...that's so mean, and yet, so funny!
VAIL?!?! I think you may need pastoral care while you're there! Both of you! And specifically from us!
Have fun!
