Thanksgiving, piano recital, and in between
This blog is long over due (as my sister Lauri so helpfully reminded me earlier today)! It has been a busy past few weeks! We kicked off Thanksgiving by having Stone Soup Day at Luke's preschool. As opposed to Ava, Luke might be the shortest in his class. But probably the cutest!
After Stone Soup Day we headed up to Alexandria to celebrate Thanksgiving with Sara's parents. Ava and Luke for some reason became obsessed with playing "veterinarian" so I made them surgical masks and Mom found them plastic gloves. After the stuffed animals became a little too dull to examine, it was time for a live patient. Papa was a willing participant!
The started calling themselves doctors shortly after that, much to Papa's relief! The weeks after Thanksgiving have been a blur with work, meetings, Christmas decorating, and entertaining. And illness. Ava has had an ear infection, and I had a nasty eye infection. No fun. Even our doctor commented that he would not like to see us for a while! I agree. This past Monday, Ava had her first piano recital. She was so excited and did great! She memorized her piece, and bowed at the end. We were so proud of her!
She was pretty excited to play on the grand piano in Nazareth Chapel at Northwestern College here in the cities. It is a beautiful place. We are looking forward to many more recitals to come!
