A little behind

This weekend my mom asked me if it had been a while since I posted anything on the blog. Hint, hint. Yes, I am just a little behind. Life has been a little busy the past few weeks. Here is a sampling:

Our basement flooded. Yep, the newly finished basement flooded. It was not a happy day. New carpet had to be ripped up, new pad thrown away, furniture shoved to one end of the room. Thankfully we have one of the best neighbors in the world, and he happens to lay carpet. Helped us save the carpet and gave us new pad he had left over from another job. Jim rocks.

Andy's brother bought a house. Five blocks from us! :) Which is great news, happy news, and we get the honor of helping paint, rip out carpet, refinish floors, etc. Which we are happy to do and offered to do it. Especially since he had been staying in our basement, and we had to kick him out when it flooded. Sorry Ben.

Church stuff continues to happen in the summer. Andy and I do a lot of premarital counseling, especially in the spring and summer. And we get lots of visitors in the summer and try to meet with new people.

Unexpected things happen. A good friend of ours and fellow church planter passed away after a battle with melanoma. We had the honor of visiting him shortly before he passed away and attended his funeral. My dad continues his battle with lung cancer and has been hospitalized as he battles fatigue, nausea, and a possible infection. Thanks for the prayers.

We also manage to squeeze in a little fun. Last week we took a day trip to Willmar and spent the day boating with the Abrams. Good times.
