This post is dedicated to my brother-in-law Charles, because he convinced me it was worth it.
Last Thursday I had my first official surgery, if you can really even call it that. I took the plunge and had LASIK corrective vision surgery. I have to say, it was truly a remarkable experience. Less than 5 minutes per eye, slight discomfort, a gross smell, and voila, perfect vision. Even better than with my contacts. It is truly a wonder when I wake up in the morning that I can look across the bed and without squinting and see what time it is. I was going to go into detail about what is all involved, and I even googled pictures of what it looks like when you are having the proceedure done, but the pictures I found on the web were a little scary, and talking about how you can smell your eyeball burning under the laser may not appeal to everyone, so I will leave you with this. If you have ever considered having LASIK, do it. It is amazing to be able to see with out contacts or glasses. I can't wait to go to the beach this summer, and even little things like being able to see in the shower are such a treat! It really is an investment, but a good one. Thanks Charles!
