We're still here!

Sorry for my lack of blogging, most of you out there probably think we are still sick! Thankfully we are all currently healthy, and the flu bug that we had I hope we never meet again. Luke definitely got hit the hardest, and took the longest to recover. I was quite worried about him at one point, wondering about taking him in to get fluids as he had been unable to keep anything down for 3 days. Thankfully he has bounced back, but it was pretty sad to see little Bubba camped out on the couch for 5 days hugging a bucket. To give you a quick rundown, here was our week:

Sunday afternoon through Tuesday afternoon we were in Alexandria/Glenwood visiting some friends and family and Andy had a couple of meetings with church leadership and supporters of Antioch Community Church. Sara, Ava and Luke also got to visit Kassie and Mary Jane at their shop to get their hair cut, always a treat!

Tuesday nights are always a bit crazy, Ava has gymnastics at 6 pm, and Andy is taking a class from 7 to 10:15 pm. So we eat supper early, rush home after gymnastics and try to catch the last part of American Idol.

Wednesday was Andy's 30th birthday! I spent most of the day running here and there and cleaning the house because we had a surprise party for Andy Wednesday evening. He thought he was going to be going to a prayer meeting, but instead everyone showed up at our place for cake and ice cream. It was a great time, thanks to everyone for coming!

Thursday (was this really only yesterday?!?) was catching up day. Work, clean up after the party, and took the kids to the playground. Andy and I also had a premarital counseling session with a couple from our church (total number of engaged couples now 7!!!). Weddings start May 30.

Today, Friday, was outside work day. We are fixing our garden in our backyard so that we can actually use it this year. It was in sad shape, it has a retaining wall around it that was collapsing and there are a lot of branches that need trimming so that it will get full sun. We got a great start today and are looking forward to finishing and planting tomorrow. I'll post pictures of that as soon as it is done. It is quite a transformation! It was also exhausting, and Andy went to bed at 8:30. And that is where I am heading next. Good night!
