The Carousel
Ava has been begging for a while to go and ride the carousel by the Como Zoo in St. Paul. (A free zoo by the way, which is great!) She rode the carousel a few weeks ago with her cousins when she went to the zoo with Aunt Barbie and Uncle Scott. And she has not stopped talking about it since! Yesterday, Andy and I decided would be the big day. So we packed up after lunch and headed over to ride the carousel.
It really is beautiful. It was built in 1914, costs $1.50 to ride, the ride lasts for quite a while. Ava loved every minute, and probably would have stayed on her horse the whole afternoon!

After the carousel, we wandered through Como Zoo for a while and hit the butterfly house. There are hundreds of butterflies flying around, it is really pretty cool. I had a beautiful butterfly land on my camera, so could not get a picture of that one, obviously, but here are a couple that were still long enough to get a photo of.
A fun family afternoon! And in the van on the way home it began again... "Mom, when can we go and ride the carousel?"
