The Carousel

Ava has been begging for a while to go and ride the carousel by the Como Zoo in St. Paul. (A free zoo by the way, which is great!) She rode the carousel a few weeks ago with her cousins when she went to the zoo with Aunt Barbie and Uncle Scott. And she has not stopped talking about it since! Yesterday, Andy and I decided would be the big day. So we packed up after lunch and headed over to ride the carousel.It really is beautiful. It was built in 1914, costs $1.50 to ride, the ride lasts for quite a while. Ava loved every minute, and probably would have stayed on her horse the whole afternoon!
Luke wasn't quite so sure at first, but once the ride got going he loved every second! And cried when Andy peeled him off his horse.After the carousel, we wandered through Como Zoo for a while and hit the butterfly house. There are hundreds of butterflies flying around, it is really pretty cool. I had a beautiful butterfly land on my camera, so could not get a picture of that one, obviously, but here are a couple that were still long enough to get a photo of. A fun family afternoon! And in the van on the way home it began again... "Mom, when can we go and ride the carousel?"
