The chapter we read tonight was called "The Spell Begins to Break." The one where Father Christmas shows up because Aslan is slowly breaking the White Witch's spell that it is always winter and never Christmas. It was fun reading out in the tent with a flashlight, almost made me want to jump in a sleeping bag and stay out in the tent. Almost. :)

We'll see...
How long this lasts! Ha! Andy told Ava a while ago that some night this summer they could sleep in a tent in the backyard. Well, tonight is the night. We got everyone in warm pjs...
and got everyone tucked in and snuggled under the blankets. It is supposed to be in the 50s here tonight, so we will be bringing everyone inside once they fall asleep, if that ever happens. Luke was pretty stoked about the whole tent thing. Notice his pretending to sleep face.
We also did a little reading in the tent prior to the afore mentioned snuggling. I have started reading the Chronicles of Narnia to Ava, and she loves it. She might be a little young to catch everything and fully understand the story, but I know we will end up reading them again, maybe even a couple of times. I know I read them over and over growing up, and I still love them. I love watching her as I read the story, she gets so excited when Aslan is mentioned and loves hearing about Lucy (we are reading them in what I feel is the correct order, starting with "The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe" - I know there are some of you who think "The Magician's Nephew" is book 1, but it was not written first - and I just can't start with that one).

Good luck with the tenting. I remember tenting with you...almost got crushed by snow.
We just listened to the Dawn Treader and The Horse and His Boy on our last trip. Fun for the kids and the adults!
Aunt Barbie
Well.... did they make it??
At 11:15 everyone was asleep and Andy was chilled to the bone and and getting uncomfortable on the ground so we brought everyone in to sleep in their own beds. They were quite disappointed they did not wake up in the tent, however...
