So much to write about, so little time. I have become the definition of a bad blogger. Let's see, where do I even begin? I have yet to write about our Minnesota State Fair experience (at the best fair ever, ha!), but I am at work, and do not have accesss to my photos, so that one will have to wait. So for now, here is just a little rundown of O'Rourke happenings...
Luke
Since Ava has started preschool, Luke has been going through a little bit of an adjustment. He hates taking her to school, for two reasons. One, he does not get to stay and play, and they have a sweet train set at the preschool. Two, he has to go home and be alone, no big sister to harass. For a couple of weeks he would do everything in his power to try and prevent us from taking Ava to school. And let me tell you, though he is small, his power is mighty. One day he sat down in the parking lot, refusing to go into the school. Times like these make you feel like a terrific parent, out in public, everyone watching how you will handle it. Great. We have just invested in some books "The Strong Willed Child, " "Raising Your Spirited Child, " and "Bringing Up Boys." Prayers will also be appreciated. Despite the adjustment, he can be sweet and loving, and always has hugs for Ava when we pick her up from school. Luke wants to be a mean pirate for Halloween.
Ava
Preschool is wonderful and amazing. Ava has gotten to ride on a school bus for a field trip, tour a fire station and get in a fire truck, and oh, the art projects! Our house is getting overrun with 3-D art (toilet paper tubes), constrution paper, paintings, apple printings, etc, etc. She has made new friends, and is thoroughly exhausted by the end of the week. We are starting to look into kindergarten for next fall, already. It is competitive here in the cities if you want to open enroll into another school district (which we want to do). She is sweet as ever, and wants to be a yellow flower for Halloween.
Andy
Andy is busy as usual with Antioch Community Church, being daddy and husband, and keeping up the homested. We have had lots of new people at Antioch the past few weeks, which is awesome, so he has been meeting with said new people, on top of sermon prep, teaching a class, mentoring his interns, leading a small group, among other things. He ran a 5k a few weeks ago and did great. We recently joined a community center, so he has been getting back into lifting weights. Andy does not want to dress up for Halloween.
Sara
I have been keeping fairly busy as well. Shocking. I started a new part time job in July, and it is great. I work 20 hours a week, my office is only 15 minutes away, I set my own schedule, and have a great boss. The community center that we joined has a waterpark and indoor playground, so the kids and I have been spending quite a few afternoons enjoying that, because the weather has been atrocious. But don't get me started on that. Cooking, cleaning, laundry, entertaining, reading to the kids, building forts, and having sword fights also keep me occupied. I will not be dressing up for Halloween, and am looking forward to spending the weekend at the Abrams for trick or treating.
So there you have it. I will try and be more faithful to the blogging in the future. Promise.

Thanks for the update! Loved hearing a bit about what's going on with you guys--can't wait to see you all soon. I bet Ava and Luke are getting big! Praying for you all :)
Can't wait for the weekend - I really think you should reconsider the dressing up thing...
You are mom, if you weren't busy I'd be more concerned! :) Can't wait to see pictures of their costumes. I say it alot but Hayden and Luke are so much alike! He hates that Abby goes to school, but hates to pick her up because it interrupts his favorite program :) He is also going to be a pirate! Too funny! Wecome back to the blog world
