Road trip!

As you read in my last post, we were down in Iowa visiting family and friends over the 4th of July. We had a great time! We caught lightning bugs (doesn't seem to be as many of those in MN as in IA), played ball, rode bikes and enjoyed spending time with Andy's family. We saw both of Andy's grandmas, plus some aunts, uncles and cousins. It was fun to catch up!Here is the whole O'Rourke crew. A fine looking bunch. Little Will was a little less than excited to have his picture taken. But hey, everyone is looking at the camera!Andy's parents live in a VERY small town. We are talking maybe 100 people. We saw a couple of signs around town that just made us laugh every time we drove by them. Not sure how many people driving through Millersburg are looking for a singing canary, but hey, at least it is young and healthy!
This sign just cracked me up. Meth church? Really? Could they have not come up with a better abbreviation of Methodist? What exactly will they be putting in their ice cream? Gotta love small towns!
We also had the opportunity to head to Quincy, IL, for a couple of days and reconnect with some dear friends from our days in Chicago. We were a part of a small group bible study with 5 other couples when we lived in Chicago, and formed some really great friendships. Five out of the 6 couples were able to get together over the 4th in Quincy and we had such a blast! We have increased our numbers quite a bit, there were 12 children under age 9 for the weekend, including 2 sets of twins! Had the other couple been able to make it (we missed you Heatons!) there would have been 17 children under age 9. It was so great to just pick up where we had left off, talk about life, encourage each other and just have fun together. It is a special group!
Thanks again Dilleys, for being wonderful hosts! Already looking forward to the next reunion!
