Carousels and Cousins

A few weeks ago we went on a little adventure to Como Zoo and the Carousel, one of the kids favorite places. We had a great day all planned out. Ride the carousel. Check out the butterfly house. Have a picnic. Roam around the zoo. We love the Como area. The zoo is free and it is only $1.50 to ride the carousel. The kids love it! The carousel is beautiful and the kids love picking out their horses.

Ava was so excited because she is now old enough to ride on an outside horse all by herself. Being 5 is great. After taming the wild horses, we headed over to the butterfly house.Pictures don't really do the butterfly house justice. There are thousands of butterflies flying everywhere, it is really fun. You even have to walk through a little room with mirrors to get out so you can check yourself for butterflies that may have landed on you. After the butterfly house the plan was to have a picnic and then roam the zoo for a while, but the weather had other plans. It started raining. Soooo...we improvised, and had our picnic in the back of the van. The kids thought that was pretty adventurous. After the picnic, we decided to save the zoo for another time, and enjoy the rest of the rainy day watching Planet Earth at home. Happiness all around.

And then last week the cousins from New Jersey came! We had a belated birthday celebration for Isaiah, and then met up with the Abrams crew and did a little swimming. Those pics are on my phone, so I will have to get them up another time. All 8 cousins in one pool, a good time was had by all!

Causeys will be here another couple of weeks before heading back to New Jersey. We are looking forward to more fun!
