Now you're cooking with gas!

This is a saying my family uses when things start going well, like when you get a good hand in Rook, or you make progress on a project. I have been saying it as a reminder to myself, because for the first time in 6 years I have a gas stove again. Today we had kind of a close call!

While Luke and I were waiting for the water to boil and dancing to a little Go Fish, I started to smell smoke, and looked over at the stove and my wooden fork was blazing away! It got a little too close to the burner, obviously. But we got the flames out and Luke learned a valuable lesson about cooking with gas: things will catch on fire if they are too close to the burner. (OK, I guess I had a good reminder as well!)

We have decided that Luke is going to be a farmer. He is always busy in the yard, picking up sticks and rocks, digging in the dirt, dragging things around, always looking for little "projects." Ava meanwhile, is still quite the princess. She has just learned to pedal and steer her trike, and even is brave enough to go no hands (for a few seconds)! She is also enjoying the gardening tools her Aunt Rosie just gave her. The watering cans are especially a big hit.
Luke is more interested in drinking out of the watering can than actually watering any plants. Like I said, he's a farmer!

I hope there's no MiracleGrow in that watering can!
