COMPUTERS!! AARGHHHHHHH!

I have a love/hate relationship with technology. Don't we all? Cell phones are a great invention, more safety when you are traveling, allows you to get a hold of your spouse in case of an emergency (pick up some milk on your way home, or Luke is bleeding profusely AGAIN!), the list goes on. At the same time, now we are always available. Work is not confined to office hours. People can find you and get a hold of you whenever. And there is something about hearing that beep when you get a new text message. You HAVE to look at the message, you just have to, no matter day or night. And then we have the computer. A great invention. Invented by a professor at my alma mater (Iowa State University), thank you very much. Dr. Atanasoff, now immortalized by his very own building that houses his invention (yes, it takes up the whole building, I've actually seen it), what have you done? You have created a generation dependent on the computer. When it is working, we love you, when it is not, we really do not like you very much at all. My computer is having some issues, yet again, and the Dell technician (bless him) is having a hard time figuring out the problem. We may have to reload the operating system, not a fun task! My card reader will not work, so I can't load pictures or use a jump drive. I keep getting error messages that I do not understand. My outlook keeps running slower and slower. I am frustrated and fearful of my warranty expiring! Dr. Atanasoff, it is all your fault! There. I feel better now.
