School bus!

Ava loves school buses. I think this may have started when we moved in with the Causey's last spring and Ava and Aunt Lauri would walk down the driveway to see the kids get off the bus. So for Ava, seeing that school bus meant that the cousins were home and now it was time to play! Anytime we see a school bus it is a highlight of the day. We even make the distinction that there are other buses we see on occassion, and these buses get greeted with the statement, "Well, that's just a city bus." A good friend of ours drives a school bus, and Andy arranged for him to stop by our house after his route the other day. Thanks Craig! Ava (and Luke) was so excited she could hardly stand it! Not only did she get to see a bus up close, she got to get on, open and close the door, and turn on the flashing lights. How exciting!

We even pretended Ava was going to school and she would run from the front door of the house and get on the bus. And then I realized I am not ready for that day to arrive, as much as she wants it to. I know the day is fast approaching, and then she will be graduating from high school before I know it. For now I am content just to see the school buses in passing, and enjoy the fact I have a little while before she gets to ride one for real.

Ava and I did our own version of Fanasty Island, instead of Tatoo yelling "da plane, da plane!" I had my little Ava yelling, "da bus, da bus!" It was great!
The fantasy ended quickly for me however when everyone got off da bus!
