LUKE
Luke turned 5 (?!) January 7. His 2012 can be best summed up with one word: wii. We got the kids a wii for Christmas and Luke is in heaven. He has to earn screen time, but is a big fan of asking mom and dad if he can "sneak" a little wii time in the afternoon before Ava gets home. Luke still enjoys school, and is quite the ladies man. He has already informed me which girl in his preschool class he is going to marry. He has also been enjoying legos, nerf guns and swords, and playing with mom and dad's iphones. He knows more about them than we do, and once re-arranged all of Andy's apps and put them in folders. Andy had to have him move them all back because he couldn't find anything. Smart kid.
AVA
Ava turned 7 on January 16 and is loving first grade. She also enjoys the wii, but is in heaven with her new furry best friend, Minnie. She has been reading up a storm and loves the Magic Tree House books, as well as any books about animals. She has quite a social life, is getting invited to birthday parties, over to friends houses, and has a "bff" (best friend forever) named Anna, who is a very nice girl. Ava has also been tearing through AWANA books and just finished her second book this year in Sparks. She is also a smart kid. And this Saturday she lost her first top front tooth, and was very pleased. She even asked Andy if he would announce it in church on Sunday, because that would just be easier than having to tell everyone individually. :) (He said no.)
Sara
January and February are really busy for me at work. We have several big events that I plan and coordinate, and as my job is political, once the state legislature starts session in February, things really get busy. Besides work, I am leading a women's mentoring group, we just hosted an Antioch membership class, and I feed people a lot. And I drive kids around. I love it.
Andy
Classes started again for Andy in January (he is in an MDiv program). That just makes life busy for everyone. Antioch continues to grow and Andy has been meeting with new people, leading an elder training group, preaching, teaching membership classes and trying to keep up with homework.
We are all looking forward to spending some time in Arizona with my parents in the next couple weeks. Warm weather here we come!
