Cookies!

Last week we had our annual cookie decorating night! We had a great time, the kids loved it and Ava really did a great job. When I was growing up, we also decorated cookies, and we kind of took it to a whole new level. It wasn't just decorating cookies, it was a competition. We would break out toothpicks and spell things with sprinkles. We would paint faces on the three wise men with frosting. You could say it was a little intense. We kept it a little more low key with the kids. Here is the crew ready to get started!

Ava actually got to frost this year. At one point we were all frosting away listening to Christmas music and she looked up and said, "I am really enjoying this." So sincere!

Luke lasted about one cookie and then needed to eat one, which really meant licking the frosting off.
Here is one of Ava's many masterpieces, and my favorite one of hers.
On Sunday night we introduced our community group to O'Rourke cookie decorating. We actually had a couple of people who had never frosted cookies before! We had a little competition and picked the best cookie of each shape (we have trees, snowmen, angels, candy canes and stars). We had a pretty intense night of decorating!
Here are a few of the finished works of art. Almost too pretty to eat!

A shot of the winners of each category. Notice the absence of men? Hmm....
Have a merry Christmas!
