The week after

I feel like I have turkey hangover. And there is a lot of turkey left in the fridge yet! We had a great Thanksgiving, and were able to spend time with both families. The Causeys arrived last Saturday evening after driving for 2 days from New Jersey. It was great to see them, and Ava and Luke were in heaven. Maddie has been taking flute lessons and she gave us a little concert. As soon as she started to play Luke burst out laughing as if this were the funniest thing he had ever seen. Not that the music was bad, he just couldn't believe where it was coming from. Then, of course he had to give it a try himself.Ava and Hannah got to be princesses. Actually I think Ava was the princess and Hannah was her queen. We hardly saw them all evening, Hannah even got Ava through bath time! We miss you Hannah-babe!Then it was bedtime, and I could hardly refuse when I was putting Luke down and he looked at me and said "Rock?" (It really sounds more like "walk," we haven't quite gotten "r" yet.) So I brought him back down and he and Aunt Lauri rocked a while. And then it turned into giggle-fest. I didn't realize rocking could be quite so hilarious. Lauri had him laughing so hard I was sure he was going to have a stroke. So the rocking was a little counterproductive, but worth every second! The Causeys left Monday to head up to Alexandria, and we followed Tuesday afternoon. We celebrated with Sara's family on Thursday, headed home on Friday, and the O'Rourke crew come up on Saturday. More playing and eating. And eating. And pie. Ava and Luke loved every second!
And then Monday happened. The kids were bored with just mommy. And they sure didn't want turkey for lunch!
