Good times...

First of all, belated Merry Christmas to our faithful readers! We have had a great couple of weeks at home, getting a few projects out of the way that have been hanging over our heads (mostly Andy's head, but that is ok). First up, the room that has never gotten finished. We have three bedrooms in our upstairs, and one of them needed some work. When we moved in (over a year ago) we had gutted it with the intention of sheetrocking, refinishing the floors and then having it be Luke's room. Days, weeks, then months passed by with no action on the room. Finally, this fall Andy promised that Luke would be in his room before his second birthday, and I am pleased to report it will actually happen. Here is Andy and his "helpers" putting up trim.
Luke was a big fan of the saw dust, and enjoyed tossing it around the room. He was also enthralled with the saw, terrified of the nail gun, and in love with the tape measure.
Ava lasted about 5 minutes, and then retreated to her room away from those noisy boys. The trim is up, we have a bed and a mattress, and I will post pictures of the finished project soon! Yea! Way to go Andy!

Ava has been working really hard on writing her letters and learning how to spell words. Here are her efforts from a couple of days ago:
I love moments like this one.

We also were able to finally play outside in decent temperatures the other day. The first time the kids have been in substantial snow with out it being below zero. They had a blast! Snow angels, sled rides and jumping into snow piles, it was a great time.
And finally we are counting down the days until we hop a plane and spend New Year's with the Causeys in New Jersey. We made a countdown that we mark off every night before we go to bed. Three more days until Ava and Luke get their first plane ride. Thanks for your prayers! :)
